Re:Remote Learning
To: PVO Families
Hello PVO Families-
These are some unprecedented times but the number one most important item for all of us is to be safe! The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) is encouraging school districts to provide some types of remote learning opportunities and PVO is here to help our students to continue their love for learning. This is not to add stress during these already stressful times, this is to help create a routine of learning for all the students in the district. Currently, schools are closed through April 7, this date is subject to change since these are unprecedented times.
Teachers are currently organizing options to be shared with families and will be reaching out to you in the very near future (if our wonderful teachers and staff have not done so already). Many of these resources are for remote learning instruction, if you do not have the ability for remote learning instruction please reach out to your child(s) teacher(s) and we will do our best to match up a paper version lesson to our remote learning resources through mail/or through staff delivery. We ask that you do not come to the schools unless otherwise arranged for special purposes. The offices will be open daily from 8:00 to 12:00 noon to assist so please call us.
We have set up a tentative schedule for the teachers and students to follow, but it may vary depending on the grade level:
Mondays and Wednesdays: Math and Reading
Tuesday and Thursdays: English Language Arts and Reading
Fridays: Social Studies and/or Science and Reading
Reading is listed every day. It could be what is suggested by the teachers, but it could also be as simple as reading a cartoon, short story or a news article.
We are currently collecting resources and putting them in one location for all families with internet access to view. A link will be provided on Tuesday, March 24th through email and Facebook correspondence.
The most important things to remember with remote learning right now is to have continuity, structure, and support! Please continue to communicate with the PVO teacher(s) via email, Class Dojo, or any other communication platform.

The 2020-21 pre-kindergarten registration is cancelled and we will reschedule once Covid-19 all clear is given.
The Governor just extended that all school districts are closed through April 8.
We will still be providing meals to any PVO student (email the cooks) during this time.
I will provide more information after Monday’s meeting about PVO’s continued learning during this time.

Hi PVO
During the school shut down bc of the Coronavirus/Covid-19 we will be providing FREE “Grab and Go Snack Lunches” to any PVO student that wants one starting Monday, March 23. The Pick up time will be from 10-11 a.m each day at all three buildings (Monday through Friday).
So all you need to do email the cook/school you want to pick the meal up at (see below) and provide your name, and student (s) name by Thursday at 10a.m. so we can order food. You can pick which building is closest to your home/babysitter not necessarily where your child(ren) go to school.
Menu for next week is Ham and cheese sandwich ,carrot sticks, chips, fruit cup, and milk.

Hi PVO Parents and Employees
The Governor has closed all school districts in the State of Illinois through March 30th. Therefore, at this time, the school will resume on March 31. There will be no practices allowed during this period of time for extra-curricular activities. Only employees are allowed in our schools during this time period. PVO Janitors will be doing a thorough cleaning during this time period too. Again, school will resume on March 31st.

The 7th grade girls’ volleyball team plays at Next Generation at 6:30 pm for the Sectional Championship. Please come support the girls’ volleyball team as they try to advance to the IESA 7-1A State Tournament -Elite 8.
The 7th grade girls VB team are the Regional Champs.
The 7th grade girls’ volleyball won their first Regional match and play for the Regional Championship at 6:00pm in Chrisman.
Congratulations 7 grade volleyball as they won and advanced to the second round of regionals. They defeated Heritage 25-23, 16-25, and 25-16. Girls play again Monday night at 7:15.
Ever wonder what teachers do on those Institute Days? We go to school!!! Today the teachers are learning lessons using toys that are familiar to all of us!!!

At the end of three PVO is up!!!
After trailing 14-4 at the end of the first quarter the 7th grade boys are now trailing 21-20 at the half!!!

Reminder: The 7th grade boys’ basketball team will play for the IESA 7-1A State Championship tonight at 7:30 pm at East Peoria. We hope to have a humongous crowd to support the boys onto victory and watch them receive the State Trophy and individual medal. Go Mustangs!
PS: The PEP Assembly is at 2 pm at the jr high school.

The PVO 8th grade BBB season was a very good one but we lost to Armstrong/Potomac by a score of 42-36. A big shout out to our 8th grade boys and their parents for wonderful memories. Thank you
