Recently, 10 eighth grade students at PVO chose to participate in the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics junior high mathematics contest. These students spent time in Mrs. Bork's class working on practice problems, both team and individual, in the months leading up to contest. The results are in and….our two teams ranked tenth out of over 50 teams from across the state! Most of the schools that participated were from the Chicagoland and St. Louis area. Mrs. Bork is super proud of their performance and looking forward to participating again in February. Team members included: Emily Elsbernd, Johanna Schmitz, Jonas Hutcherson, Josey Frerichs, Mikyla Haley, Jack Setterdahl, Hunter Ketchum, Blake Morgan, Peyton Sarver, and Alayna Wagle.

7th Grade Regional Champs

Lee Smith came to speak to our Junior High students this morning in honor of Veteran’s Day. He gave a presentation about the hardships and daily life he experienced during his time serving in the Vietnam War. Students were able to see a presentation of pictures that Lee took himself while in Vietnam and ask questions as well.
