I am so happy to announce our new 5th grade teacher (Ms. Emily Griswell) for 2018-19.
My name is Emily Griswell and I am very excited to introduce myself as the new fifth grade teacher at PVO South. I grew up in St. Joseph and still live in the area. I graduated from Eastern Illinois University in December of 2016 with my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I am currently working on completing my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Eastern Illinois University (estimated completion is May 2019). After student teaching (in fourth grade with Mrs. Stewart at PVO South!!), I taught fourth grade for a semester at St. Joseph Grade School. I have been a graduate assistant for the past year at EIU while working on my Master’s, and I can’t wait to get back into a classroom full time. I love the upper elementary level as the kids are sweet and sassy at the same time. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, hiking, watching movies, and crafting (pallet projects are my favorite hobby right now). I am so incredibly excited to be back at PVO South and connect with past and future students and families.

This is 5th grade showing Mrs. Howard's second grade their habitat slide shows. The 5th graders took information from outdoor school and created a slide show about an Illinois animal. Second grade was learning about habitats so we took turns showing them all our slides. Using Chrome books to share information!

My name is Taylor Hacker. I am so excited to begin this journey at Prairieview-Ogden South and to be working with the sixth graders attending there. I graduated from Eastern Illinois University. This is my very first year teaching sixth grade, and I am so excited! This will be my second year teaching. I previously taught 5th grade at Northview Elementary School in Rantoul, IL.
I grew up in the Bloomington-Normal area. In my free time, I like to play tennis and fulfill my passion for reading.
I have one younger brother who will be a freshman at Elmhurst college this coming fall. I just recently adopted a cat named Owen. I enjoy getting out in the community and volunteering with various activities. I can't wait to meet everyone soon! Thank you for welcoming me into your community, I'm looking forward to an amazing school year!
